In 1967, the 5th Dimension, a then little-known vocal quintet, ascended to stardom with their hit song “Up, Up and Away.” The breakthrough propelled them to stardom, marking the beginning of a remarkable career. Today, the 5th Dimension is celebrated as one of the most influential champagne soul groups in musical history.

With over 25 million records sold, 22 Top 40 hits, and five chart-topping songs, including “Up, Up and Away,” “Wedding Bell Blues,” “One Less Bell to Answer,” “Last Night I Didn’t Get to Sleep At All,” and the timeless “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In,” the group’s impact on music history is undeniable. They have received 14 gold records, six platinum records, and six Grammy Awards, earning them a rightful place in the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2015, the group celebrated 50 years of extraordinary entertainment.

The 5th Dimension has performed on iconic stages such as the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City Music Hall, alongside Frank Sinatra, and graced television screens with unforgettable appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, Soul Train, and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and Arsenio Hall. Their timeless music has been featured in critically acclaimed films such as 40 year old virgin, Forrest Gump, My girl, and Born on 4th of July.

The 5th Dimensions’ enduring legacy was celebrated in the academy award winning film Summer of Soul in 2021.

Led by original member Florence LaRue, the 5th Dimension continues to deliver dynamic performances that captivate audiences worldwide. In recent years, they have entertained at the White House, delighted families at Disneyland and Disney World, and collaborated with prestigious symphony orchestras, showcasing their wide-ranging appeal.

Alongside LaRue, members Patrice Morris, Floyd Armstrong, Sidney Jacobs, and recent addition Shane Lawrence add their own contemporary sound while remaining true to the signature five-part harmonies that have defined the group from the early years. The 5th Dimension’s versatility continues to attract fans of all ages and nationalities, as noted by White Plains Citizens:

The 5th Dimension’s voices and harmony are stronger, more emotional, and as meaningful– perhaps more meaningful– than when they first became hits in the 1965-1975 era. Today’s Dimensions deliver a tight, personal show, as crisp as old top 40 Radio.

The 5th Dimension attributes their success to none other than unwavering commitment of their fans, and thanks your continued love and support.
